Kovaco’s journey began over 30 years ago with the founding of IDČ-Kovačič in 1991. Established by Ing. George Kovačič, ambitious and experienced mechanical engineer and visionary entrepreneur, the company initially focused on creating innovative solutions for the welding industry. George’s ingenuity in developing original devices to improve daily life- productivity, precision, ergonomics, and safety in welding laid the foundation for what would become a multi-faceted, globally recognized company.
As an early success, Kovaco's welding positioners were introduced to the market in 1991, rapidly becoming a vital tool for engineering companies across Czechoslovakia. These positioners offered significant advantages when working with large weldments, ensuring greater safety and work efficiency. This product quickly cemented Kovaco’s reputation as an innovator in the manufacturing sector.

In 2015, the company entered a new phase of its development when Ing. Iggy Kovacic, the son of the founder, joined the family business. Igor brought a fresh perspective and innovative thinking that helped propel Kovaco into its next stage of growth. Under Igor's leadership, Kovaco Electric was started, expressing a clear focus on sustainable electric machinery. His vision was instrumental in shifting the company’s product lineup to electric-powered equipment, setting the company apart as a trailblazer in the green energy sector.

The company ventured into the development of skid steer loader attachments and agricultural equipment, introducing Central Europe's first-ever backhoe attachment. This expansion into construction and agricultural machinery set the stage for Kovaco's most significant leap forward: the introduction of electric-powered machinery. In 2016, Kovaco’s future began to take shape when the company designed and developed their electric skid steer loader - the world's first machine of this type. The design and technology behind this loader were driven by the need for environmentally friendly solutions in industries traditionally dominated by diesel-powered machines. With zero emissions and reduced noise, the machine was designed for operations in environments where these factors are critical, including indoor spaces, urban sites, and sensitive ecological areas.
